Meaning and Purpose

Meaning and purpose.
It is what we all long for.
Because it’s what we were all created for.
It’s not your vocation.
It’s not your title, role, or profession.
It is who you are designed to BE.
Not what you were designed to DO.

For example…
A car is designed to BE a form of transportation.
But so is a train, an airplane, and a bus.
How they DO that transportation looks different, but it doesn’t change that they ARE a form of transportation.

It’s the same with you.
You are designed to BE a light in this world.
How you DO that will look different than anyone else’s light.
But it won’t be because you choose a certain profession.
It will be because you choose to shine your unique light in whatever profession, relationship, location, or platform you find yourself in.

So how do we know what our light looks like?

Andy Andrews says the obstacles we face are often the unacknowledged heroes of our personal growth. And I find that to be so true.

We often find what our light looks like when we look at the things that try to stop us from moving forward, things like self-doubt and fear especially, and realize that overcoming these will grow our confidence stronger and our faith bigger while refining the brightness of our light.

When we push past what tries to hold us down and don’t let it win, we grow.
And we shine.
Personally.
Spiritually.
Relationally.

So, lean in to what is pushing against you and pay attention to how you move past that and shine. It is there you will find the meaningful purpose you were designed to BE.

We find our light at the intersection of our greatest joy and greatest need.
