Has Your Dream Discovered You?

As a little girl, I had quite the imagination. I dreamed of being so many wonderful things! Being a princess was my favorite dream. I would be a good princess who loved the people of the land and made right every wrong done to them. Being a private investigator that uncovered truth and exposed lies and deception was another dream, as was being a lawyer who fought for the ones being wrongly accused.

As I grew up, I learned that being a princess was probably not very realistic. Injustices and other discouraging life lessons taught me that my other dreams were probably not possible, either. Besides…private investigators and lawyers often have bad reputations, so it was probably just a little girl’s foolish dreams anyway. At least, that is what life taught me. Until…

Unlearn discouraging lessons. Relearn truth.

I unlearned those discouraging lessons and relearned the truth behind my dreams. So maybe I will never be a princess. But what I didn’t know at the time was that “the thing” (princess, private investigator, lawyer, etc…) isn’t what is important. The truth is that any one of those dreams, or a combination thereof, would have been a path that would have allowed what I was made for to come alive. What I have relearned is the motivator behind those desires. I am made to stand for justice and truth, and a huge part of that is helping people discover the injustices of limitations that have been put on their dreams. Those limitations can be removed and dreams can be achieved. I relearned that I am made to help people discover that, and in that realization, my dreams discovered me!

Live what you were made to live

The same holds true for you. What is your underlying motivator for wanting to be, or do, certain things? Operating in that motivator, through whatever path, is where you begin to live what you were made to live. What has been your motivator for the various “things” you wanted to be and do in your life? Choose a path! You have the freedom to do that, because the path isn’t the dream. Operating in the motivation for that path is the dream. Begin operating in that motivator, and watch an exciting chain of events affect other people as you do.

We spend so much of our lives trying to discover our dreams, when all along if we would just pay attention to our desires we would see that our dreams have found us! So…has your dream discovered you? I believe it has. All you have to do is pause, and see what has been there all along.

What are you made for? What is the dream that has discovered you?
