The Greatest Battle: Your Purpose Vs. Your Fear {Part 1}
You cannot live your purpose and nurture your fears at the same time. Think of any good story. What makes it good? Conflict, right? There is a protagonist, who is often known as the hero, and an antagonist, the hero’s opponent or rival. Now think of your purpose as being the protagonist and fear being its rival. Both are powerful, but whichever you yield to will win. You cannot entertain them both.
You cannot live your #purpose and nurture your fears at the same time. #success #strengths Click To TweetI love this quote by Michael Jordan: “I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
Michael Jordan knew his purpose and went for it with all he had. Failure was inevitable, but it was not final. Failure became a tool for learning that fueled Jordan’s success. It has been a tool in the hands of Walt Disney, Lucille Ball, Thomas Edison and many others. It can be a tool in your hands, as well.
#Failure is inevitable but not final. Use failure as a tool to fuel #success #encouragement Click To TweetWhether it is fear of failure, fear of people, fear of public speaking, fear of being known, or whatever that fear is…just name it. Know it. Recognize it as your enemy. Then set it up for the fight of its life. Set that opponent in the ring with your purpose and show that fear what is stronger.
Of course, in order to do that, you must know your purpose, too. And that, my friends, will be our next conversation…

On point, Brenda. For some of us this battle is ongoing, but this is such a great reminder that there is just too big of a cost to let fear have its way. We have God-sized purposes to walk in! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Roger. Yes, fear is the greatest thief! Here’s to courageously moving forward!
