You cannot live your purpose and nurture your fears at the same time. Think of any good story. What makes it good? Conflict, right? There is a protagonist, who is often known as the hero, and an antagonist, the hero’s opponent or rival. Now think of your purpose as being the protagonist and fear being its rival. Both are powerful, but whichever you yield to will win. You cannot entertain them both.
When we think of independence we often think of not needing anyone else. We think of being independent individually, rather than collectively. Today may we all remember that this independence was never meant to be celebrated simply on an individual level, but as a nation.
A lot of people have been in a state of what feels like perpetual transition. It is epidemic. Everywhere I go I talk to people who have been waiting and waiting…and waiting… on what they believe is their next step. Obstacles have blocked the forward movement of many plans and purposes. Hearts are yearning for what feels so close, but continues to escape their grasp. Well, folks, it is time to stop yielding to the obstacles, and start moving them.
