Building Bridges (Together)
Have you ever considered yourself a bridge builder? Many people could use some bridge building in our world. Your help…our help together…could make a significant impact.
Division in our nation, our communities, and even our families has impacted us all. It started long before 2020, but since that year the effects have been devastating. Will you please read and consider your involvement in our Zoom call on Thursday, 12/29/22 at 11am CST?
Can you believe it’s December already? The time of year where “peace on earth, good will toward men” is sung around the planet. Yet I can’t keep from asking myself the same question over and over:
Are we any closer to bridging the gap of differing perspectives?
Unfortunately, the answer appears to be NO.
And because I am a woman whose faith is in Jesus, I also ask:
Are we any closer to bridging the divide within the body of Christ?
Because that’s a problem, too.
I am sure you have your own questions.
If divisiveness, discord, and destructive behavior bother you as much as they do me, I am asking you to please read on and register for our free Zoom call together.
It will take many parts to bridge these divides. I started working on my part in 2016. It is needed now more than ever. I call it Loud Is Not a Language®…or LINAL for short.
Most of us have found ourselves in the midst of hard conversations between family members, business associates, or those politically diverse from ourselves. Whatever the differing perspectives, embracing the LINAL® model of communication can build bridges to greater respect, understanding, and influence. It is a simple 4 step process.
We all know simple doesn’t necessarily mean easy, but the hardest part about this simple process is choosing to include empathy, understanding, and respect in our part of the conversation. No matter how much we disagree with the other person’s perspective, understanding and respect don’t require agreement. Somewhere along the line we have forgotten that. LINAL® is a great reminder.
Another thing we have forgotten is the power of humility. Some believe power and humility to be opposites. I believe them to be a great compliment to one another because the degree to which a person responds to power with humility determines the degree to which they will connect with people at a deeper, more genuine level. The deeper the connection, the greater the trust, and the more impact the influence. The game changer is not whether that influence changes minds. It is whether that influence changes hearts.
Heart change almost always precedes mind change.
I want to share this 4-step process with you so that you can use it in your arena to influence with greater impact. I also want to open up some conversations where ideas can flow, and we can possibly develop ways to move forward in building much needed bridges…together. If any of my concerns and desires are like yours, please register for this free Zoom call.
As already stated, the Zoom call is free, but I need you to register here because space is limited.
Hoping and praying to see you Thursday, 12/29/22 at 11am CST.
Just in time to start the new year as a Bridge Builder!
